Welcome home!

Beginning Thursday, August 20 is our traditional, new-student orientation for students—Belles Beginnings. In-person, student and family orientation will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday and will continue through Sunday, August 23. Parents and families are welcome to join us for a portion of the programming. This weekend is designed to make your transition to campus smooth, informative—and fun.

Early Arrival Information

Students moving in early for Fall Athletics, the Notre Dame Marching Band, ROTC, Belles Connect, and Kessler Scholars will receive more information from their specific organization as details are finalized. Fall Athletes, Belles Connect and Kessler Scholars will be expected to move in on August 16, while Notre Dame Marching Band and ROTC students will be able to move in on August 19.

Fall athletes, Notre Dame Marching Band and ROTC students will have mandatory orientation expectations on the evening of Wednesday, August 19 to support missed programming during orientation weekend. Information regarding these required meetings will be listed in the final Orientation Schedule, released in early July.

Belles Connect and Kessler Scholar students will be expected to attend all Belles Beginning Orientation programming as normal.

Parent Information

The Parent and Family portion of Belles Beginnings will predominantly occur on Thursday, August 20, followed by some optional programming on Friday morning. All family involvement in orientation will conclude following lunch on Friday, August 21.

More information will be sent about virtual parent programming that will happen during the Fall Semester.

  • When is in-person Orientation?

    Belles Beginnings is our traditional, new-student orientation for students and parents. In-person, student and family orientation will begin on Thursday, August 20. All family involvement in orientation will conclude following lunch on Friday, August 21. Following lunch, our student-only Belles Beginnings Orientation activities and programming will begin. We are committed to making this transition smooth, informative, and fun. We cannot wait to have our new Belles join us in August.   • What outfit should I wear for the Power of Saint Mary's?

    Orientation programming is casual. This is considered an opportunity for students to be themselves and make connections with others. The only programming with requirements about dress is BelleFest/DomerFest. More information will be discussed about those programs when you arrive.

  • When do meal plans start?

    Student meal plans for the Fall semester begin on Saturday morning, August 22. However, new-student meals will be covered in the dining hall from breakfast on Thursday, August 20 to dinner on Friday, August 21. Families and guests are welcome to purchase their meals at any dining location on campus. Please note, we are a cashless campus. Meals will be provided on campus for all off-campus commuter students from Thursday, August 20 to Sunday, August 23.

  • If I am living off campus or am a transfer student, should I still attend orientation programming?

    Absolutely!! We encourage all new students to attend any and all orientation programming. To attend BelleFest/DomerFest it is necessary you attend all required programming sessions throughout the weekend.

  • Should I still attend Belles Beginnings if I am required to move in early?

    Yes!! We encourage all students to attend programming throughout the weekend, as this is meant to be an opportunity to meet and connect with fellow Belles!

  • What else do I need to know about move-in?

    The first stop for all incoming students will be Angela Athletic and Wellness Complex. In Angela, student will receive health forms, room keys (when applicable), their student IDs, and necessary other materials.

    Where are students/families supposed to park during move-in?
    Students and families should plan to unload at their respective halls and then move their car(s) to available parking spaces in the Angela Lot, Facilities Lot, or our new Belles Crossings Lot. Please be prepared to follow the directions of Campus Safety officers and other volunteers to available lots.

    Will dollies or carts be available for families to move items into the residence hall rooms?
    Yes, there are limited number of carts available, but if families have their own, we strongly encourage them to bring them. Demand is high, but the supply is rather low!

Monday Blues

Beat the Monday Blues with a night of music, ice cream, and s’mores! Dance along with a live DJ, grab a scoop (or two!) of Vanilla Bean ice cream, and gather around the campfire for some classic s’mores. Come hang out, relax, and kick off Spirit Week with us!
